| 1. Do I have to change the nozzle along with the filter every heating season? |
| | Yes, we do recommend changing the nozzle due to high mineral content in
water. We would like a proper atomization for proper absorption of fine mist into
the heated air stream. |
| | Secondly, you can also soak your nozzle in a lime fighter or CLR to break
down those deposits and reuse at anytime. It usually takes a week or so to break
those deposits down. |
| |
| 2. I have concerns about duct condensation, how can I avoid this problem? |
| | a. Check if pulse times are too high, please consult manual for square ft.
of house. |
| | b. Smaller duct size requires a #8 nozzle (.5gallon) or lower pulse setting. |
| | c. Run Humid-a-Mist in the heat only mode, which requires the gain switch
to be in the off position. |
| |
| 3. Can the Humid-a-Mist be used in an attic application? |
| | We do not recommend attic installations due to low temperature conditions
and possible freezing of water lines. |
| |
| 4. Can the Humid-a-Mist water line be installed to the hot water line? |
| | No, due to higher calcium deposits and the breakdown of the water filter. |
| |
| 5. Can the Humid-a-Mist be used on a home using a water softener? |
| | It can be used on either side of softener, but dusting may occur on the treated side
of the softener due to the displacement of salt in the water. |
| |
| 6. Where is the proper humidistat setting? |
| | During the winter seasons these settings could vary depending on outdoor temperature conditions.
Please follow the recommended humidity settings on the Humid-a-Mist humidistat. |
| |
| 7. When is the recommended time to change the filter and nozzle for our humidifier? |
| | The time to change the filter and nozzle are at the start up of each heating season when you will be running your furnace. |
| |
| 8. Can the Humid-a-Mist filter be used with ice makers or reverse osmosis water systems? |
| | Yes, this filter is highly recommended for all water filter applications. |
