HUMID-A-MIST is a solid state humidification system that is incorporated into a forced air heating unit. HUMID-A-MIST is designed to maintain a broad range of humidity levels in a residential or commercial space by means of a bypass pulse board, a misting nozzle, water solenoid valve and a water filter cartridge. The pulse board is designed to pulse a mist of water at adjustable time intervals to accommodate a wide range of residential or commercial dwellings, according to the square footage and CFM requirements.

The ability to achieve and maintain humidity levels is controlled in three modes of the bypass pulse board and a separate gain switch incorporated into the pulse board.

  1. UNISON MODE
In the unison mode both the furnace and HUMID-A-MIST work together providing moisture to dry heated air.
  2. BYPASS MODE
In the event that humidity levels fall below humidistat setting and the heating system is not running due to satisfied space temperature, the bypass pulse board will bypass the heating circuit, powering the furnace in low speed and begin to pulse a mist of water to humidify space independently from normal operation of the furnace.
  3. STANDBY MODE
Should the HUMID-A-MIST be in the bypass mode and humidifying the space and the heating thermostat calls for heat, the bypass pulse board will sense a call for heat and go into standby mode, opening circuits to the furnace blower and water solenoid valve shutting down humidification so it will not interfere with normal start up or the efficiency of the heating cycle. Once furnace reaches required temperature and fan limit/logic board closes circuits to furnace fan, the bypass pulse board will come out of standby mode and return to unison mode and the humidification process will resume.
  4. THE GAIN SWITCH
The function of the gain switch is to turn on and off the bypass mode. In the on position the Hum-100 will operate independently from furnace at any time there is a call for heat. In the off position the HUMID-A-MIST will only operate on a call for heat.
